Man City chase Arsenal contract rebel

As Arsenal fans often discuss in the Football Transfer Tavern, a top class Gunners player leaving the Emirates Stadium for Manchester is getting all too familar and today the Daily Star report that Manchester City want to sign contract rebel Theo Walcott.

The paper suggests that new City sporting director Txiki Begiristain wants the Citizens to make Walcott priority number one in the January transfer window after following the forward’s progress while he was working in the same role for Barcelona.

In just the last three years, City have signed four players from the North London outfit including Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri while they also tried to land Robin van Persie during the summer before losing out to fierce neighbours United.

Walcott, who has met a contract impasse over a new deal with Arsenal, has been linked with moves to a host of European clubs as he looks set to leave the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer.

Is Walcott the next to make the move to Manchester? Vote in our polls below.
