The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are delighted with the transfer business that their side has conducted this summer…
A number of big names like Bernardo Silva and Kyle Walker have moved to the Etihad, undoubtedly improving the quality of Guardiola’s team.
However, there has been comparably less attention placed on potential outgoings at the club. It’s been a bit of a transitional period at Man City for a couple of years, and there is a lot of dead weight within the ranks that Guardiola will likely be keen to move on.
One player that undoubtedly features on that list is Eliaquim Mangala, who has struggled to impress for the Citizens since arriving. Fortunately, though, he could be given an exit route over the coming weeks.
According to Transfer Market Web, Mangala has been placed on a shortlist by Inter Milan, with the Italian side looking to improve their defence this summer. He is said to be an affordable option for the European giants, and representatives of the club are said to be trying to seal a deal for the defender.
Guardiola will likely be happy to let Mangala leave the club, especially with Vincent Kompany looking back to his best, and so this deal could work out for all parties.
Mangala’s time at Man City is certainly at an end, whether he leaves the club or not. He stands very little chance of getting a chance in Guardiola’ side this season, and so a departure makes sense.
The club will be keen to not make a massive loss on him financially, but it’s clear that his value has dropped during his time in England, and so provided that they are offered a decent fee, they should take it.
