Man City could move for Spanish defender as Guardiola plots defensive rebuild

Pep Guardiola is seriously struggling in the Premier League, and the Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to get concerned…

With Man City’s impressive start to the Premier League season now a distant memory, Pep Guardiola is quickly coming under fire for the way that he has led his side over the last few weeks.

An explosive start has been contrasted by a prolonged spell of mediocrity, with the Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern particularly concerned about the lack of defensive stability in the heart of their side.

After all, Man City have already conceded 28 goals this season, which is nearly double the number of the Premier League leaders Chelsea.

It is clear that there is a serious problem at the back for Guardiola, and it would appear as though the Spaniard is ready to act. According to the Mirror, Man City are plotting a summer move for Spanish left-back Juan Bernat – with Pep Guardiola seemingly keen to add a bit of youth to his backline.

Bernat has reportedly been added to an extensive list of targets that also includes Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk – with a summer rebuild seemingly on the cards for Guardiola.

With Bernat not a regular in the Bayern Munich first team, our landlord thinks that a deal could actually happen – though it will not be easy for Pep Guardiola.

This has delighted the Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern, with the likes of Gael Clichy and Aleksandar Kolarov simply not cutting it on the left-hand side of the defence anymore.
