The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern have been pretty unhappy with Claudio Bravo’s performances this season…
The ex-Barcelona goalkeeper has had a mixed start to life in the Premier League, with a few high-profile mistakes drawing the ire of the Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern.
In truth, a few of the Citizens by the jukebox in the Tavern have claimed that Bravo is simply not cut out for the Premier League, with his mistakes costing City a number of points already this season.
It won’t come as a surprise, then, to learn that according to the Sun – Pep Guardiola is keen on bringing in some goalkeeping depth at the Etihad. They note that Benfica goalkeeper Ederson Moraes could be on his way to the Premier League, though interestingly they suggest that his role will likely be as second-choice to Bravo.
Our landlord isn’t so sure about that, and he has suggested that Guardiola could look to place Moraes as first choice goalkeeper. Bravo clearly hasn’t been impressive this season, and Willy Caballero is a more than capable back-up – so getting in another goalkeeper unless to replace Bravo wouldn’t make sense.
To add further fuel to the fire, reports emanating from Don Balon over the last few days have suggested that Bravo is unhappy in England, and that he would consider a move away. Could Guardiola be targeting Moraes as a replacement, should that happen?
The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are definitely behind getting a new goalkeeper in, but they feel that the uncertainty surrounding Bravo could seriously harm their side going forward.
