Man City eye Hector Bellerin and Jose Luis Gaya as part of defensive rebuild

The Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking forward to another spending spree…

Since Pep Guardola’s arrival in Manchester, the Sky Blues have not been afraid to splash the cash.

A number of big-money signings, including that of Nolito and John Stones over the summer, have transformed the Citizens – and they look set to run away with the title this season.

However, in contrast to the Man City fans in the Tavern – Pep Guardiola is seemingly not content with City’s performances so far this season – and he appears to already be eyeing his next transfer move.

According to the Times, Man City are preparing a £100m defensive rebuild – as Guardiola eyes several new full-backs.

Touted as a weak spot of the Man City first team by the Citizens in the Tavern, City have had to settle for players like Kolorov and Clichy in recent weeks – and whilst they are by no means bad players; they are not of the standard that Guardiola expects.

The Times are reporting that Pep Guardiola is eying Arsenal man Hector Bellerin and Valencia defender Jose Luis Gaya as his primary targets; with £100m his budget to recruit the pair.

Bellerin’s future has been a hot topic in the Tavern in recent weeks, given that he is still yet to sign a new deal with Arsenal. With Man City seemingly circling; it will no doubt be a tense few months for the Gunners faithful in the Tavern.

Luis Gaya is less-well-known in the Tavern, but the resident Spaniards in attendance are claiming that he is as good as Bellerin. They think that they could form a deadly pairing together – making Man City’s defense unstoppable.

With the January transfer window still several months away, only time will tell; but in the past, Manchester City have often managed to land whoever they want – such is the lure of the club and Guardiola.
