Man City eye huge £20m move for gifted defender

The Man City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are eagerly awaiting the January transfer window…

The Sky Blues have faltered over the last few weeks after an impressive start, and it has left the punters in the Tavern questioning if they have the quality to win the Premier League title this season.

Whilst it is far from the ‘crisis’ that our punters are claiming it to be – Guardiola certainly has some decisions to make – and he needs to start making them in January.

City’s weakest area is undoubtedly in defence – and Guardiola is seemingly keen to ensure that he improves upon his side’s weaknesses.

According to the Sun, Man City are keen on a move for Bayern Munich defender Juan Bernat – with a £20 million deal reportedly being lined up.

The deal certainly makes sense, especially because Guardiola and Bernat will be familiar with each other – given the time that they spent in Germany together prior to Pep’s departure.

With players like Gael Clichy, Aleksander Kolarov and Pablo Zabaleta all disappointing so far this season, it will come as no surprise to see that Guardiola is seemingly keen to invest in new fullbacks – especially with the trio all fielding interest from abroad.

Our landlord is backing Guardiola for a big money defensive move in the new year – and Bernat could well be his best option.
