Man City eye swoop for Zack Steffen

Man City eye swoop for Zack Steffen -Latest News

Manchester City managed to secure a dominant victory over West Ham United yesterday in what was a very accomplished performance from Pep Guardiola’s men.

The Citizens remain at the top of the table after yesterday’s win with Liverpool hot on their tail, but they did lose one of their title contenders as Chelsea suffered defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur.

Interestingly, it appears as if Guardiola is now looking at potential January additions, as according to Sun Sport, Manchester City are eyeing a move for MLS goalkeeper Zack Steffen.

Pep Guardiola has targeted USA goalkeeper Zack Steffen as a shock No2 at the Etihad, with the 23-year-old being lined up for a £5 million move to the Premier League champions.

Claudio Bravo is currently out injured with a ruptured Achilles, which has forced the Citizens into taking a look at back-up cover for Ederson.

The club’s scouts have faith in the MLS star being a star of the future and want to secure his future before sorting out a work permit.

And, it looks as if any potential deal will be done in January as Guardiola would ideally want Steffen as No2 for the second half of the season as Bravo is expected to miss the campaign.

THE VERDICT:

Claudio Bravo’s career looks over at the Etihad.

Manchester City scouts are clearly impressed with what they’ve seen of the goalkeeper, so it makes perfect sense to bring him to the Etihad in the January transfer window.

The USA goalkeeper has plenty of potential and is already excelling on the international stage and in the MLS, with a move to the Premier League being just rewards for his efforts.
