The Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been alerted to some pretty interesting transfer news today, courtesy of The Sun (via The Express)
The publication are claiming that City are lining-up a staggering £50 million move for Everton midfielder Ross Barkley as the club desperately search for a replacement for Yaya Toure, who could be on his way out of the Manchester-based club.
With the Toffees currently occupying a pretty ordinary 11th place in the Premier League, it appears that the club seem resigned to losing their most prizes asset either in January or in the summer transfer window.
One City fan is sat with a pint of the landlord’s award winning home-brewed ale and is unsure about Barkley signing for his team, citing his previous injury concerns as a real issue when it comes to parting with so much money.
An Everton fan in the Tavern disagrees however and is setting up the balls for a game of pool when he says that the Toffees can’t hold on to Barkley forever and thinks he would really thrive at the Citizens, should he make the move.
Manchester City fans… What do you make to the possibility of signing Barkley? Let us know in the comments below!
