Man City eyeing up move for Ansaldi

After continuous rumours linking him with a move to Eastlands, it has now been confirmed that Man City are in fact pushing to sign Rubin Kazan left-back Cristian Ansaldi.

The Daily Mail claim that Rubin Kazan’s Sporting Director Mukhsin Mukhamadiev is well aware of Roberto Mancini’s interest in the Argentine left back but claim he will face a struggle if he wants to bring him to Manchester.

It had been thought that a £4.5m deal had been struck between the two sides for Ansaldi but this proved to be false and Ansaldi has remained in Russia but Mukhamadiev has confirmed the Manchester club’s intent,

‘It’s not just a rumour, the English really do have their eyes on Ansaldi, but they are not alone. Today there are several major European clubs interested in his services. But it is not in Rubin’s plans to sell Ansaldi. He has a contract with the club and we are counting on him for the new season.’

The 23 year old defender has caught the eye of Europe’s elite with his performances in the Champions League and was voted the best left back in the league as Kazan wrapped up their second league title in the row last season.
