The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a story from Goal.com that claims Bayer Leverkusen’s Leon Bailey has been named alongside Kylian Mbappe and Eden Hazard on Pep Guardiola’s summer shopping list. The Jamaican winger has seen his stock rise ten-fold since he moved to Leverkusen from Genk in January last year and now he could be set to move again for a massive fee in summer.
Manchester City are weighing up a move for Bayer Leverkusen forward Leon Bailey (20). City have Bailey on a 'non-Mbappé' two-man list and any bid could depend on Mbappé's availability. [@Sammy_Goal]

Bailey is reportedly part of a two-man ‘non-Mbappe’ shortlist as far as Manchester City are concerned. The club reportedly wants to sign a pacey and direct forward as they look to bolster their squad for next season. The Citizens already have Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva in their wide attacking areas, although the competition for a starting spot will be ramped up next season if they can bring in Leon Bailey.
The Jamaican has scored eight goals and registered six assists in his 28 Bundesliga appearances for Bayer Leverkusen this season and has done enough for Pep Guardiola to mention his name alongside the likes of Hazard and Mbappe. Whilst Bailey is definitely the cheaper option out of the three, there’s no doubting that Guardiola could polish him from a rough diamond to a superstar. Bailey also offers versatility to any side he plays for, being effective on both flanks and even being handy as a support striker if necessary.

Don't see Mbappe happening, but he's a generational talent. If he's available, you get him. Better than Sterling now. But Bailey has the makings of a fine player too
