Manchester City fans in the Tavern have reason to be concerned this morning as it’s emerged that their club has yet to open up contract talks with £72 million-rated wing wizard, Raheem Sterling (via Transfermarkt). The man who moved from Liverpool to Manchester for £56.25 million back in 2015 has scored 20 goals in 35 appearances for Guardiola’s side this season and has been one of the key performers in what has been a record-breaking campaign for City so far this season.
Sterling has shown himself to be reaching the massive potential that he was touted to reach this season under Pep Guardiola. His electric pace and ability to beat a man has been combined with end product which sees the 23-year-old sitting pretty in 4th in the Premier League scoring tables with 15 goals, behind only Harry Kane, Mo Salah and teammate Sergio Aguero.
His incredible form this season only begs for more questions to be asked on why the Man City hierarchy haven’t opened contract talks with the winger. If the Citizens are to advance to the latter stages of the Champions League they’ll need to not only keep up their magnificent form, but they’ll also need to keep their star players happy and maintain harmony throughout the dressing room.
Here’s what the fans think:
Why are fans wishing him to leave? We wouldn't be +15 puts ahead without. I'll be okay if he goes to madrid for 120m

Need to offer him a new contract asap

Honestly I wouldn't mind if he left, most of his goals are tap ins. Could definitely get at least 70 mil for him and invest in a better talent

Why? He’s been one of our most important players? The side visibly missed him against Wigan. And he’s still very young and seems a great character for the locker room. I would be absolutely gutted if he left.

Harry Kane and Dybala in for Sergio and Sterling!?
Wouldn’t be bad imo
