The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern have been urging the club to offer their 18-year-old wonderkid, Phil Foden, a new contract. The midfielder, who has drawn comparisons with Andres Iniesta, turns 18 today and has been touted as a future captain for the Sky Blues. The youngster has had fans begging him to sign a new deal as they prepare to build a side for years to come.
And @PhilFoden is celebrating his 18th!

Manchester City’s current midfield consists of David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and Fernandinho, three of the best players in their respective positions in the Premier League. Foden played his part this season, and despite being limited to appearances mainly from the bench and in the cup competitions, the future looks bright for Pep Guardiola’s latest protege.
The 2018/19 season promises to be even more excited for Foden’s fans. The Sky Blues saw Yaya Toure leave the club at the end of the 2017/18 season and it could be Foden who’s called up to fill the void left by the dominant Ivorian. Whilst he has a long way to go to match the achievements of Toure, he can start by keeping his down and performing when he gets the chance under the club’s record-breaking Spanish gaffer, Guardiola.
