Man City given hefty financial boost to strengthen transfer ambitions

messiManchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern have enjoyed a decent few years with the help of Sheikh Mansour’s investment and they’re now getting giddy with excitement due to the latest news.

The Mirror states that £265m will be injected into the club after the sale of shares to a Chinese consortium, which bolsters the Citizens plans to secure two major arrivals in 2016.

With finances already healthy, especially given City’s share of the £5bn TV revenue for the Premier League, City are eying hefty moves for Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola and Barcelona’s Ballon D’Or favourite Lionel Messi.

The cash injection will only increase their chances of being able to finance a move for the high-profile pairing but there’s still a lot of work to be done, as Bayern want Guardiola to pen a new deal and Barcelona do not want to lose Messi.

That hasn’t stopped Manchester City fans dreaming at the bar though, as they imagine the Citizens embarking on a football world domination.
