The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that Pep Guardiola will be able to solve a few problem areas in his squad this summer…
Whilst the Citizens have done well for much of the campaign, several areas within the Man City squad are clearly problematic – with the fans in the Transfer Tavern particularly concerned about the defence.
The likes of John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi have really struggled this season, and with Vincent Kompany’s game time seemingly reducing by the month – a rebuild is certainly on the cards.
Indeed, this is a problem that Guardiola needs to fix, but it appears as though the situation surrounding his goalkeepers is a more immediate priority for the Spaniard.
According to Portuguese outlet Record, Manchester City are in talks with Benfica goalkeeper Ederson, as Guardiola looks to find a solution to his goalkeeping dilemma.
Interestingly, the outlet notes that there is a ‘gentlemen’s agreement’ in place – with Guardiola seemingly keen to secure the deal.
The Man City fans behind the bar are keen on this deal, as they are growing increasingly concerned at the poor form of Claudio Bravo. Mistake-prone and poor between the sticks, Bravo clearly needs replacing – and our landlord thinks that Ederson would be a good target.
