Manchester City will be desperate to work their way back into the title race after a very disappointing run of games under Pep Guardiola.
The Citizens have plenty to ponder with the January transfer window approaching, but Thursday’s game against Liverpool could completely change the balance. And, it appears as if Guardiola is eyeing a possible swoop, as according to Fotomac (via Sports Mole), Man City are interested in Abdulkadir Omur.
Interestingly, it’s understood that Man City have expressed a desire to sign Omur, who is said to be valued in the region of £27 million by Trabzonspor.
However, they aren’t the only team interested in signing the 19-year-old as Liverpool are also in the race.
The right midfielder has produced two goals and four assists in the current campaign, as one of the standout performers for the Turkish high-flyers.
Omur, who is valued at £7.2 million (by Transfermarkt), is one of the rising stars over in Turkey at the moment, so it comes as no surprise that City are looking to secure his services.
Indeed, after losing Brahim Diaz, perhaps Guardiola is looking to bring Omur in as a direct replacement as he has the ability to play in the middle and out wide.
