Man City keen on January bid for attacker – but they will only make move on one condition

It has been a stellar few months for the Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern…

After a very good summer transfer window, the Citizens have launched an explosive Premier League campaign under Pep Guardiola, with Man City now rivalling Man Utd at the top of the table.

It’s certainly a very exciting time to a fan of the Sky Blues, and in January, it could get even better. That is, if a recent report from the Mirror is to be believed.

According to the Mirror, Man City are plotting to move for Alexis Sanchez this summer, and the club have set aside around £20 million to make him a Citizen ahead of the expiry of his contract next summer.

Of course, at that point – with around six months remaining on his contract – he would be able to sign a free agency deal at the end of the campaign, and so a cut-price deal does make sense.

Still, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal agree to such a fee, with some of the Gunners in the pub preferring for him to simply leave on a free at the end of the campaign.

Whichever way you spin it, it’s a terrible situation for Arsenal – whilst clearly, Man City are holding all of the cards.

As a player, he would add another level of quality to an already incredible attacking line, with the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling already offering Guardiola lots of potency up top. It’s an exciting time to be a Citizen, that’s for sure.

Landlord’s Verdict

However they work the deal out, Sanchez to Man City is a match made in heaven.

The Chilean would likely like to link up with his former manager, whilst the former-Barcelona boss was the man that brought the best out of him whilst in Spain.

With City likely to be embarking on a title challenge in the new year, that extra edge could be just what they need.
