Mixed feelings on this one from the Man City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern…
The Man City faithful were delighted to see Vincent Kompany return to the pitch in mid-week – but their joy was short-lived.
Despite an impressive performance on his return, Kompany went down with an injury towards the end of the game – leaving the Citizens in the Tavern sweating on his fitness.
Still yet to make a Premier League appearance this season, the Belgian has suffered with a long string of injuries in recent months – and that does not look set to change after going down with yet another knock this week.
However, it is not all bad news for the Citizens in the Football Transfer Tavern.
According to the Mirror, Guardiola is concerned with Kompany’s lack of fitness – and could look to bring in Juventus stalwart Leonardo Bonucci as a replacement.
City were, of course, interested in the Italian over the summer – but opted for John Stones instead.
With Vincent Kompany’s fitness becoming an issue – our landlord thinks his Man City future is far from guaranteed.
In fact, one particularly vocal Man City in the Tavern thinks Bonucci’s arrival could spell disaster for the Belgian defender…
