The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern were expecting big things from Samir Nasri when he moved to the Etihad…
Undoubtedly one of Arsenal’s better signings in recent memory, Nasri was impressive for the Gunners, and was quickly snapped up by Man City as the Manchester-based outfit looked to prove their dominance in the Premier League.
However, inconsistent form eventually led to his dismissal last season, with the Frenchman spending the 2016/17 on loan with Sevilla.
Despite impressing in parts for the Spanish outfit, it seems as though Pep Guardiola is looking to sell him this summer – though it doesn’t look like a deal will come easily. According to the Sun, Man City are ready to cut their asking price for Nasri to just £12 million – with the club reportedly desperate to see him depart this summer.
Though a tricky midfielder to deal with on his day, Nasri’s inconsistency has been a problem throughout his career, and this doesn’t look like something that Pep Guardiola wants to deal with.
Indeed, it was always going to be tough for Nasri to force his way back into the Spaniard’s plans, not least because another attacking midfielder – Bernardo Silva – has already moved to the Etihad this summer.
