Pep Guardiola really is upping the ante this summer.
Despite having already signed six players this summer, including the likes of John Stones and Nolito, the Manchester City boss is showing no signs of slowing down his summer spending.
According to the Daily Mirror, City are poised to bring in Dynamo Zagreb attacker Ante Coric, in a fee that could reach £10 million and push the club close to the £150 million mark as their summer spending spree continues.
Pep Guardiola is renowned for his attacking approach, with a particular emphasis on pacey, technical attacking players – and Ante Coric is certainly in that mould.
At 19 years of age, the Croatian star is certainly a signing for the future; but the City faithful here in the Tavern reckon he could find himself in and amongst the first-team squad this season.
Despite his tender years, Coric has already made his debut for the Croatian national team, and was included in the side’s squad for this summer’s European Championship tournament.
On a more personal level, he was awarded the ‘Croatian Hope of the Year’ award in 2015, given yearly to the most talented Croatian youngster.
With games coming thick and fast for City this summer, squad depth is absolutely crucial – and our landlord reckons Coric could be just the man that Guardiola needs to bulk out his impressive attack’s depth!
