Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern will be expecting the side to continue their charge for total football domination and will want to see Pep Guardiola bring a number of additions into the side.
The Etihad Stadium outfit ran away with the Premier League title last year, however, it was their performances in the other competitions that were rather disappointing for the locals to see. They were beaten by Liverpool in the quarter-final of the Champions League and hardly made a challenge for the domestic trophies.
Pep Guardiola is keen to ensure that does not happen again and according to reports, will not let any of his key men leave this summer, even if it were on loan to help their development.
According to a report by the Manchester Evening News, the Spaniard is not prepared to entertain a loan move for Phil Foden to Leeds United, insisting his development would be better off with him and the first-team.
The decision to not allow Foden to go out on loan to Leeds shows how highly Guardiola thinks of the youngster and what he can already bring to the Sky Blues. With the Whites being managed by Marcelo Bielsa, an associate of his, it would have made sense to see him head to the Championship outfit.
However, it now appears that the locals in the Tavern could be prepared to see the 18-year-old more often in a Manchester City shirt and the residents will be watching with keen interest to see how he continues to develop.
