The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern aren’t sure what happened to Nolito last season…
Following his arrival at the club, many in the pub expected the Spaniard to become a reliable hand for Pep Guardiola. Clearly a player that he trusted, the attacker was brought in with very little fanfare, and subsequently went on to be a pretty key part of Man City’s plans for the opening weeks and months of the Premier League season.
However, before too long, Nolito found himself out of the fold at the Etihad, with players like Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne often selected in his place.
Now, it looks like the Spaniard could be on the way out, with the Sevilla chairman admitting that his side have an interest in the player. Speaking to Spanish station Cope, he admitted: “If we can, we want to sign him”.
This confession does, of course, come off of the back of reports linking the Spaniard with a return to his home country.
Next season things are only going to get more difficult for Nolito. The recent arrival of Bernardo Silva will have undoubtedly brought him further down the pecking order, leaving an exit the only real option for him.
Our landlord thinks than an exit is probably the best move for club and player this summer.
