The Manchester City fans are gathered at The Transfer Tavern this evening for a big pool competition against rival fans from Barcelona and discussing reports they they are ahead in the race to sign an impressive midfielder.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Premier League side have jumped to the head of the queue to sign impressive Borussia Dortmund Ilkay Gundongan.
Reports suggest that Gundongan met with City official Txiki Begiristain and incoming manager Pep Guardiola on Monday and was impressed with what they had to say.
It is thought that Gundongan will be available for a fee of around £25 million this summer after telling Dortmund that he will not be renewing his contract which expires next year.
It is thought that City is Gundongan’s preferred destination ahead of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus who are also interested in the 25 year old.
The City fans in The Tavern are delighted at the thought of Gundongan signing for their club and are hopeful to see him plying his trade at the Etihad Stadium next season.
