Manchester City are the favourites for the title in the Football Transfer Tavern…
After an electric start to the Premier League season, nobody in the Tavern can see a weak spot in Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City team.
The Sky Blues have looked unstoppable so far, and despite a loss to Tottenham last week – everyone in the Tavern is backing Pep Guardiola’s men for the Premier League title.
However, despite City’s dominance – it would appear that Guardiola thinks that his work at City is far from finished. In fact, it looks like he’s just getting started…
As per the Mirror, Manchester City are reportedly planning another £150m spending spree – despite having spent close to £200m over the summer.
They report that the trio of Leonardo Bonucci, Hector Bellerin and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang top the shopping list of Pep Guardiola as the manager plots a huge triple swoop.
They add that the City brass see the Guardiola project as a 2-year deal; meaning another summer will be required the Spaniard gets his side firing on all cylinders.
This has got everyone in the Tavern, bar the Man City fans, sweating on their clubs future. How is anyone going to compete with that?
Not even Chelsea, who are expected to go through a revolution thanks to Roman Abramovich’s riches, can rival that level of spending power – especially without the enticement of Champions League football.
A few of the fans propped up by the bar think we could be about to see a decade of dominance from the newly crowned kings of Manchester.
Man City fans – thoughts?
