Manchester City will be desperate to mount a lead at the top of the table after seeing Liverpool drop two points against Arsenal on Saturday.
The Citizens will look to strengthen in the January transfer window in an attempt to boost their chances of securing the Premier League title. And, it appears as if the club are ready to secure a big player agreement, as according to the Metro, Manchester City are prepared to hand John Stones a bumper deal.
Manchester City are ready to hand John Stones a bumper new deal after the defender made it clear he wants to stay at the club.
Stones’ current deal runs until 2022 and, though City would ordinarily not see a need to extend it at this moment in time, it’s testament to the club’s determination to reward the defender for his development that they’re happy to hand him a new deal.
Interestingly, the Englishman currently earns around £100,000-a-week at the Etihad but it’s understood that he can expect to boost his pay to around £170,000-a-week when his representatives sit down for talks.
John Stones was terrific at the World Cup and has been just as good in the Premier League this season, with a bumper deal being just rewards for his efforts this season.
Indeed, the Citizens have already offered a number of new contracts to players this season, so it appears as if the Manchester club are very much building for a successful future.
