Man City put midfielder in shop window, reportedly desperate to sell this summer

The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are excited by the signings that Pep Guardiola is making at present…

Big names like Danilo, Ederson and Bernardo Silva have already come in this summer, and if the last few weeks are anything to go by, Pep Guardiola’s spending is showing no signs of slowing down.

Unsurprisingly, the focus on incomings has shifted the prospect of departing players to the back of the thoughts of the Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern, but that area remains very important this summer. Indeed, there are a host of players within the Citizens’ first team squad that are past their best or are otherwise not suitable, and this is something that Pep Guardiola must look to act upon.

One such player is Samir Nasri, who The Times are reporting is amongst a number of players on Man City’s summer transfer list this summer. So desperate are the Citizens to sell the Frenchman, The Times reports that they have cut his asking price from over £20 million to just £10 million, and have taken him on pre-season in an effort to put him in the shop window.

It has been quite the fall from grace for Nasri, given that the Frenchman was once upon a time one of the Premier League’s most feared midfielders. He has had a tough time at Man City, and whilst he has shown moments of brilliance, these have far too often been lost amongst swathes of ineffectiveness.

Still, he is clearly a talented player, and a move away could be just what he needs – at least according to our landlord.
