Report: Man City expected to finalise deal for potential long-term Silva replacement

Manchester City fans here in the Tavern will be desperate for their side to secure the Premier League title once again next season after dominating in the last campaign.

Indeed, Pep Guardiola will be hoping that his Manchester City side can assert their authority once again next season. And, it looks as if the Spaniard is already making moves on the transfer front, as according to the Telegraph, Man City have secured the signature of Ipswich Town youngster Ben Knight.

Interestingly, it’s believed that Manchester City have beaten Tottenham Hotspur to the signature of one of England’s brightest talents.

The Premier League champions will pay £700,000 for the youngster, with further add-ons depending on how far the teenager progresses at the club. And, the deal is expected to be finalised next week but the player has long been tracked by the leading clubs including Spurs, Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and Monaco.

Manchester City appear to be looking to the future as they close in on the signing of Ben Knight. The youngster looks to be the real deal and could definitely have a positive impact on the club’s future, with success being eyed by Pep Guardiola.

David Silva is coming towards the end of his career at the age of 32, so perhaps the Citizens are looking to plan for the long-term as Ben Knight could be used in a similar position to the Spaniard, having shown signs of promise as an undersized creative player with excellent technical ability.
