The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern have been pretty disappointed with Fabian Delph’s performances since moving to the Etihad…
Brought in during the summer of 2015, Delph seemed like a good fit at Man City. Whilst not expected to be a regular starter, his homegrown status and fine performances for Aston Villa certainly seemed to suggest that he could do a job in Sky Blue – but that hasn’t really happened.
His side have performed well during his tenure, but rarely was it of his own accord – having made just 24 league appearances for the Citizens. A combination of a lack of form and fitness have really hurt the Englishman, and for many in the pub, there is no way back.
Now, after a few disappointing years, it appears as though Delph is on his way out – with the Daily Star reporting that the 27-year-old is ‘on the verge’ of a £10 move to Stoke City.
It would mark the end of a troubled spell in Manchester, though a move to Stoke City could be exactly what he needs. Mark Hughes has impressed at the helm, and he would no doubt bring the best out of a player that has struggled for form as of late.
The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern think that this is good business, as they don’t think that Delph will ever be a regular at the Etihad.
