It looks like it won’t just be the Premier League title that the Chelsea and Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern will be battling for this season…
Antonio Conte and Pep Guardiola look likely to spend much of the season going head to head, and it would appear as though the January transfer window could bring another battle.
According to AS, La Liga star Steven N’Zonzi is attracting the interest of the Premier League – with both sides looking to find midfield solutions in the January transfer window.
N’Zonzi, who would be familiar to most Premier League fans from his time with Stoke City, has undergone somewhat of a resurgence in La Liga as of late – and he has been impressive fans with his stellar performances with Sevilla in the Spanish top flight.
With Gundogan out injured for Man City, and Chelsea seeking additional midfield depth following the sale of Oscar, there is certainly room for both clubs to bring in N’Zonzi, meaning that both sides will face a tough test to land him.
For his part, N’Zonzi has been a near constant for Sevilla this season – picking up 14 league appearances and scoring twice in the process.
Our landlord thinks that any deal will certainly be a tough one, but both Conte and Guardiola will likely have the funds to make it happen.
