The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that a few more players will join the club this summer…
However, in order to sign players, Premier League sides typically have to sell in order to create funds, and it appears as though the Citizens are close to selling one of their first team players as a result.
According to Match of the Day on Twitter, Man City are set to sell midfielder Fernando to Galatasaray – with a move described as ‘on the verge’ of completion.

The Citizens have invested pretty heavily this summer, and squad roles at the Etihad come at a premium, and in truth – Fernando hasn’t really done enough in recent years to warrant inclusion.
He has struggled, and with the likes of Yaya Toure and Ilkay Gundogan still in the fold, Pep Guardiola should have a decent amount of options next season.
Unfortunately for Fernando, it has never really worked out for the player at Man City. He impressed early in his spell, but typically he found it difficult to hold down a regular first team space.
A lack of form and the resurgence of some of Man City’s key midfielders inevitably led to a poor campaign for the Brazilian last term, with Pep Guardiola rarely opting to utilise him in the middle-of-the-park.
Next season is set to be a big one for the Citizens, with Guardiola clearly keen to land the Premier League, and so his role is unlikely to change were he to remain at the Etihad.
