Man City look to be running away with the Premier League this season as Pep Guardiola has his charges playing some of the best football the Premier League has seen in recent years.
The club have plenty of talent in the ranks and currently are being led by the likes of David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and Leroy Sane, and the punters here in the Tavern have been cooing over some of the latest performances at the Etihad.
Our landlord too has been suitably impressed with how things have gone so far this season, and he thinks the club have plenty of young talent in the squad too to call upon if needed.
He thinks that City don’t need to keep on spending, and instead should turn to youngster Phil Foden, who has made a huge impression at the club since breaking into the first team picture in the last six months, with manager Pep Guardiola suitably impressed with his performances too.
Foden was instrumental for the England under-17 World Cup winning team in the summer, and looks set for a bright future in the game if he can continue his progress.
His ability with the ball and speed at which he uses it is something which really catches the eye, and his eye for both the killer pass as well as his instinct to nick a crucial goal also marks him out as one of the standout young players in the game.
Foden could go on to be one of the best midfielders in the Premier League with how he is currently going along, and City would be wise to get him involved as much as possible in the next 12 months.
City fans, how do you rate Foden? Will he be your midfielder for years to come? Let us know in the comments!
