Manchester City have had somewhat of a strange old season under new manager Pep Guardiola, but remain on course to cement a top four place if results go their way between now and the end of the season.
The Spanish manager has tried to put his own stamp on the team, and at times they have looked breathtaking, especially going forward and in wide areas.
However, our landlord here in the Tavern has been chatting to some of the City fans over at the bar this week, and they remain concerned about some of the defenders in the squad, with age and ability both coming into question.
One man who could help solve some of City’s defensive woes is current Spurs left back Danny Rose, who was excellent up to getting injured, and is valued at around £17m by website Transfermarkt.
The signing of someone like Rose would represent a similar style full back to what Pep was used to at both Barcelona and Bayern Munich, with attacking flair a key component in his game.
Rose is genuinely one of the most exciting English players in the Premier League at the moment, and if he could be tempted to the Etihad, he would certainly be an excellent addition to the City squad.
Man City fans, what do you think to this? Would you take Rose? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
