Manchester City will be going all out next season to win the Premier League after coming up short last season, and they can realistically be considered a massive shout to take the top crown in English football next term.
Manager Pep Guardiola will be determined to win his first trophies in England, and so far during this summer he has added some quality to his squad with the likes of Bernardo Silva and Ederson joining the club.
The City fans here in the Tavern are once again excited heading into a new campaign, and this week they have spent some time with our landlord throwing some arrows over by the dartboard, with plenty of discussion about the current transfer window.
Our landlord dropped a bit of bombshell name in the hat this week though, as he thinks City should make a move for Chelsea striker Diego Costa.
Despite already having Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus as solid forward options, it would be a real marker of intent from the club if they raided the current Premier League champions for their unwanted Spanish striker.
Costa was a class act last season as he plundered in the goals to guide the Blues to the league title, and he would certainly offer a different presence to what is already on offer at the Etihad.
His size, power, and ability in front of goal would surely make City a threat on all fronts, something which the club have been working towards over the past decade.
City fans, what do you think? Would you take Costa? Let us know your thoughts!Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
