Man City star braced for controversial axe, world-class replacement eyed

hartThe Manchester City fans who are gathered at the bar having a few pints this evening in The Transfer Tavern are discussing reports the club could be set to move for a world class goalkeeper.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that top of the list of transfer targets for new Man City boss Pep Guardiola is Manuel Neuer.

The German shot stopper is one of the worlds greatest goalkeepers in the game at present and if Guardiola can convince him to join him in making the move to Manchester City from Bayern Munich with him it would show real intent from the Spaniard.

If a deal was to happen it would cast doubt over England goalkeeper Joe Hart’s future at the Etihad Stadium, as he would not be happy warming the bench whilst Neuer gets the spotlight.

29-year-old Neuer still has three years to run on his deal at the Allianz Arena but with money being no barrier for City, they should be able to match the £300,000 a week Bayern are set to offer the keeper as part of a deal to keep him at the club.

The Manchester City fans in The Tavern are delighted to be linked with Neuer and would love to have him plying his trade at the Etihad Stadium next season.

City fans, would this be unfair on Hart? Let us know in the comments below!
