Manchester City fans were in full celebration mode in the Transfer Tavern last night, as they raised their glasses after seeing the Citizens grab a last-gasp victory- and then saw rivals Manchester United lose 2-1 to Bournemouth.
However, they’re now discussing a high-profile exit that could effect the club significantly as The Sun state Shanghai SIPG are ready to offer a staggering £24m deal for Ivorian star Yaya Toure.
The 32-year-old is a major target for the Far East club, who will offer the multiple-time African Player of the Year a lucrative deal worth £300k-a-week after tax.
Managed by former England boss Sven Goran Eriksson, and already boasting Asamoah Gyan, the Chinese side are ready to invest heavily after a sensational £800m TV deal was strike to bolster the force of the Chinese Super League.
With one-year remaining on his deal, Toure could be prized away and the fans are quite happy to see him go believing that he’s past his best and could be replaced.
City fans, would you accept an exit for Toure? Let us know in the comments below!
