Joe Hart’s future at Manchester City has been a hotly contested topic within the Football Transfer Tavern today, with every punter coming through our doors making their voice heard on the matter. Now it looks like the only voice that matters has made his mind up with what he wants to do before the transfer window slams shut…
In a move that shocked everyone, Pep Guardiola opted to drop Joe Hart for Manchester City’s opening day fixture of the 2016/17 season – and the future of the England shot-stopper has been up in the air ever since.
With the Daily Mail reporting that a new goalkeeper is on the way, many of the punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern thought that Joe Hart would be keen to leave the club on a permanent basis in order to find regular game time.
That now appears not to be the case however, with a further insight into Hart’s future now being provided by a journalist for the BBC.
Esteemed BBC journalist David Ornstein has taken to Twitter to confirm the rumours that both Everton and Sevilla are keen on bringing in Hart; but crucially, he added that Hart was NOT interested in a permanent move away from the club. See the tweet below…

With just two weeks to go until the transfer window shuts, Hart seemingly feels as though he needs more time to effectively decide his future; making a loan move the most sensible option.
It will definitely be interesting to see how this story plays out; the Everton fans in the Tavern have been loudly supporting any move for the keeper – but we aren’t sure they were planning on a loan move!
Equally – our landlord isn’t sure that City would be interested in a short-term move, especially with a big money move for Claudio Bravo expected to be completed within the next few days.
Only time will tell how this move plays out; but with time running out – Joe Hart is going to have to act fast.
What do you think City fans? Would you be for a loan move – or do you want him gone permanently if he is going to go? Everton fans; would you take Joe for a year? Let us know below!
