Manchester City will be looking to kick-off their Champions League campaign with a win against Olympique de Lyonnais.
The French outfit will meet the Premier League champions at the Etihad Stadium, however, Pep Guardiola will have a limited role as he serves a touchline ban handed down to him by UEFA.
Sergio Aguero trained with the first-team ahead of the Champions League meeting as they continue their preparations. The Argentine had initially been a doubt for Wednesday’s game after he had to come off during their Premier League win against Fulham at the weekend.
However, Guardiola will be without Benjamin Mendy as the defender continues to remain doubtful following a knee injury.
The France international missed the win at the weekend and did not train, although he could still be included in the matchday squad.
Man City will be looking to get off to a strong start against Lyon on Wednesday in a group that also includes Shakhtar Donetsk and Hoffenheim.
Aguero’s return to training will have been a big boost to the club’s chances, although the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling would be more than capable of leading the line for the Etihad Stadium outfit.
Guardiola’s touchline ban could be a negative for the Premier League outfit on Wednesday, however, the club will feel they have enough about them to get a positive result.
