Man City terms ‘will’ be agreed as Guardiola identifies attacker as long-term option – report

The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern have been very impressed with the fine form of Raheem Sterling this season. The Englishman struggled last term, but he has really come of age over the last few months.

Though he could have easily got lost in the shuffle at the Etihad, especially when surrounded by players like Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva, he has instead risen to the occasion – and he has emerged as one of Europe’s best attacking midfielders as a result.

Now, it appears as though the Man City brass is ready to reward him for his fine form – at least if the Mirror is to be believed. According to the Mirror,  Raheem Sterling ‘will’ be the next player to agree fresh terms at the Etihad, with Pep Guardiola reportedly keen to secure his long-term future.

Pep Guardiola has, unsurprisingly, been impressed with the fine form of the Englishman, now identifying him as one of his key players.

That’s no surprise, given just how good Sterling has been this season. Providing fantastic pace, technique and, as of late, a remarkable goalscoring record – he is quickly turning into the perfect attacking midfielder.

He’s a key part of what is arguably one of Europe’s best midfield. They’ve bagged 70 goals already this season, 18 of which Sterling has been directly involved.

Landlord’s Verdict

Sterling is indispensable for Man City at present. They can’t afford to let him go, and he certainly deserves a pay-rise.

This is a good move from the Citizens, and it’s a move that is likely to please all parties.
