Manchester City weren’t exactly at their best yesterday but they still managed to secure a valuable three points, which has helped them keep the pressure on Liverpool.
The Citizens face a tricky end to the season with the Manchester derby still to come, but that won’t faze them in the slightest as they’ve managed to overcome pretty much every challenge in recent times.
What’s the News?
Although, it looks as if the Manchester club are looking to secure a player agreement at this moment in time, as according to The Mirror, Manchester City are set to offer John Stones a new contract.
The central defender hasn’t been able to secure a permanent place in the side in the current campaign, but that doesn’t appear to have changed the club’s views on the player.
Though his deal doesn’t expire until 2022, City want to hand Stones an extension and a pay rise.
John Stones still has his best years ahead of him so it comes as no surprise that Manchester City want the defender to sign a new deal. He played a big part earlier on in the current campaign but he just hasn’t been able to get much of a look in recently, which is understandable with Aymeric Laporte and Vincent Kompany bossing things.
Nevertheless, he’ll play a big part in the future of the club and could be Vincent Kompany’s successor.
