Here in the Football Transfer Tavern we are waiting in anticipation to see where highly rated Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen ends up during the summer.
The 21-year-old looks set to leave the Netherlands at the end of the current season as the Amsterdam club look to cash in on Eriksen before his contract expires next summer.
A whole host of Premier League clubs are monitoring his transfer status with both Tottenham and Liverpool thought to be prepared to offer £12 illionm to sign him.
However Eriksen has now given an interview where he states that his preferred destination would be either to France with Paris Saint-Germain or to former Premier League champions Manchester City.
“I’d like to play for a club like Manchester City or PSG,” Eriksen told the Express.
“For me it is important that I have a good feeling at the club.
“I should be able to play football and then I could develop. I will be a better football player.”
City will be seeking fresh faces after losing the title to Manchester United and could be interested in Eriksen after his statement.
Will Manchester City get their hands on Eriksen this summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
