Manchester City supporters have been in fine voice in the Transfer Tavern throughout the current season given their team’s incredible run of form, which has put them in prime position to land the Premier League title come May.
Pep Guardiola’s men were tipped by many during pre-season to go on and win the league this term, and they have certainly lived up to expectations so far by opening up a healthy lead at the summit over bitter rivals Manchester United, helped of course by their 2-1 victory over the Red Devils at Old Trafford on Sunday. And having topped their Champions League group with consummate ease, Guardiola’s side look well placed to challenge for major honours on both the domestic and European stage in the second half of the campaign.
Subsequently, there have been many thrilled Citizens fans in the Tavern in recent weeks, several of whom are likely to be intrigued by a recent report from Ladbrokes, which details some interesting and potentially encouraging news regarding the future of Real Madrid star Gareth Bale.
The Wales international made the move to the Bernabeu back in 2013 after six impressive years at Tottenham, yet he has since gone from strength to strength with 70 goals in 160 games for the Spanish giants, in which time he has helped them to one La Liga title as well as three Champions League crowns.
However, the future of the 28-year-old has been subject to speculation in recent times, with heavyweights Spurs and Manchester United reportedly interested, yet the bookies make Guardiola’s City the favourites at 7/2 ahead of the aforementioned duo, currently at 4/1.
And with the financial power the Citizens have, it’s certainly a move which could well take place in the coming transfer windows.
Landlord’s verdict: Gareth Bale made the move to Real Madrid back in 2013 after enjoying a stunning few years with Tottenham, and things have chiefly got better for the Welshman in the Spanish capital.
The 28-year-old has since scored 70 goals in 160 games for the European giants to help them to one La Liga title and three Champions League crowns, yet things haven’t quite gone to plan for the forward this term.
And, as such, his future has been subject to much speculation in recent times, with Tottenham and Manchester United reportedly interested, but it’s Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City who have usurped them both and are now the bookies’ favourites to land the 28-year-old.
And given City’s complete dominance of the Premier League so far this season, this is sure to provide even more good news for our buoyant Citizens fans as their side go in search of a third league title in six years.
