Man City weigh up move for Fernando Gago

Roberto Mancini’s Manchester City is attempting a deadline day swoop for Real Madrid’s Fernando Gago according to the Mirror.

Argentine International Gago, 23, has been on the fringes of Real Madrid first team since the arrival of Xabi Alonso at the Bernabeu and could be tempted in a move to Eastlands to join up with fellow compatriots Carlos Tevez and Pablo Zabaleta. Having originally had a £17 million bid for the creative midfielder turned down, Gago’s agent Marcello Lombilla told the Mirror “Manchester City will present a formal offer to Real Madrid on Monday and then the decision is up to Real Madrid and we are awaiting an answer.” Whilst it is originally thought Real Madrid do not wish to sell Gago, a £20 million bid from Manchester City which is expected could be too good to refuse.

Is there any substance to this and should this rumour Fly or Die?
