Our resident Manchester City supporters over by the bar will be happy to hear that one of their young talents is set to be loaned out in order to gain some vital first team experience.
According to The Daily Mail, the Blues are actively looking to loan out winger Patrick Roberts this month, with a number of clubs said to be interested in acquiring his services.
Reports indicate that newly promoted Bournemouth are leading the race to secure the 18-year old on a short term deal, having already signed other attacking outlets in the form of Benik Afobe, Lewis Grabban and Juan Iturbe.
Roberts arrived at the Etihad last summer from Championship side Fulham but has found first team football difficult to come by, with the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, David Silva and Jesus Navas at the top of the pecking order.
The sheer amount of quality in the City squad, coupled with his age and inexperience, has meant that the Englishman has not yet started a game for Manuel Pellegrini and has managed just three appearances for City this season, including two in the Capital One Cup.
Our Landlord believes that Roberts will be a top English player, having represented England at under 19 level, but states that he needs to be playing regular football in order to reach his potential.
Manchester City fans, do you think that a loan to Bournemouth would be ideal for Roberts? Let us know in the comments below!
