Man United aim to beat Liverpool to prime-target

Marc-Andre Ter StegenManchester United fans enjoying a few beverages in the Transfer Tavern are mocking their Liverpool counterparts, after it emerged the Red Devils have stolen a march on a prime-transfer.

CalcioMercato state that Manchester United are keen to beat Liverpool to the signature of Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, who is unsettled in Catalonia.

The German goalkeeper was part of Barcelona’s Champions League winning side last season but has struggled for first-team football this term, with Luis Enrique continuing to select Chilean stopper Claudio Bravo ahead of him.

Manchester United are looking to lure the former Borussia Monchengladbach star to the Premier League, as they seek a long-term replacement for David De Gea; who is widely expected to join Real Madrid at some stage.

Liverpool have also been heavily linked to Ter Stegen’s signature as they aim to find an improvement on Simon Mignolet but their pursuit has hit the rocks recently,

Our landlord believes Ter Stegen would be an excellent replacement for De Gea, going as far as stating it would be a like-for-like exchange on their part.

Would Ter Stegen be a good replacement for De Gea? Let us know in the comments below!
