Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern been left excited as The Express reports that the Red Devils could join the race for Marco van Ginkel who had looked all set to join Chelsea for £15.5 million this summer.
According to the publication, United chief scout Jim Lawlor travelled to Israel in order to watch the talented youngster as he featured in his countries Under-21 European Championship exit after a 1-0 loss to Italy.
Jose Mourinho is known to be an admirer of van Ginkel and various sources were reporting that the Stamford Bridge outfit had put together a deal which would see him linking up with the club this summer. The Blues have a transfer agreement in place with the 20-year-old’s club Vitesse Arnhem which means they have first refusal on any players they want.
But today’s reports suggest that despite this arrangement, Chelsea’s interest may have faded and David Moyes could be ready to pounce for the increasingly in-demand youngster as he looks to put together a squad full of young and hungry talented players at Old Trafford.
