Manchester United and Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are well aware of the vast changes that their side requires this summer and they’re extremely excited about one reported deal.
The Telegraph says the two Premier League clubs are chasing the signature of Paris Saint-Germain’s unsettled defender Marquinhos, who’s frustrated with his lack of first-team opportunities coming his way in the French capital.
Marquinhos is battling compatriots Thiago Silva and David Luiz for a starting spot with the Ligue 1 giants and is often overlooked in favour of the more senior duo, which has led to increased speculation the highly-rated defender could be on his way out.
Both United and Chelsea are keen on bringing the 21-year-old to England, which would cost them about £40m, but PSG would be open to a swap deal, with potential targets including Chelsea’s Oscar and Manchester United and Memphis Depay.
However, our landlord doesn’t believe either club will manage to lure Marquinhos to the Premier League due to their lack of Champions League football.
