Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been going at each other’s throats in the Transfer Tavern today, after reports suggested the Red Devils are set to rival Spurs for one of their long-term targets.
The Daily Express cites reports from Italian publication TuttoMercatoWeb, which declare Manchester United have joined Tottenham in the race for West Brom striker Saido Berahino- with both sides eying a January swoop.
England youngster Berahino was extremely unsettled by transfer rumours over the summer, which led to him declaring on Deadline Day that he would never play for the East Midlands outfit ever again.
The 22-year-old has gone back on his word though, showing form after netting three goals in his seven Premier League appearances.
United are said to have put Berahino on their wish-list as they eye support for Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney but Spurs aren’t likely to end their interest.
Spurs fans at the bar declare White Hart Lane is the best destination for the youngster, as Mauricio Pochettino has shown faith in talented youths this season and they believe Berahino can craft a deadly partnership alongside Harry Kane.
