They may have just won the title but here at the Football Transfer Tavern Manchester United fans are pleased their team are not resting on their laurels and according to the Daily Mirror a £50 million swoop is being considered to help win title number 21.
While they may have romped to a 20th title and put Manchester City firmly in their place to boot, many feel that there is spending to be done this summer at Old Trafford and Fergie is certainly of that school. The manager has already been linked with Ramadel Falcao and is now being linked to Leighton Baines too.
In a move that will cost the club £15million, Fergie is willing to make Everton an offer for Leighton Baines as it becomes increasingly clear that despite still being a top player, Patrice Evra is no longer what he once was. Add to that the rumoured swoop for Ramadel Falcao and you are looking at a spending spree of more than £50million.
To finance this and of course make room in the squad for other players, Fergie is willing to ship out Nani and Anderson while Paul Scholes will finally be retiring – or at least until the busy winter fixtures. United are also considering targets like Marco Reus, Robert Lewandowski and Victor Wanyama.
