Man United boss Louis van Gaal facing the sack, owners ready to axe

vangaal99921Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern almost choked on their two-for-one cocktails this afternoon, after reports of a dramatic U-turn concerning their club.

The Daily Star suggests Louis Van Gaal is on the brink of being axed by Manchester United after the owners have become increasingly frustrated with his displays.

Van Gaal’s future was under intense scrutiny over the Christmas period after a run of eight games without the win by a sacking never came and results started to go the way of the Red Devils. However, the performances have not improved and the latest embarrassment was needing a late penalty to see off League One Sheffield United in the FA Cup.

Suggestions now state that the owners are ready to swing the axe following the awful performance, with it taking 70 minutes for United to register their first shot on goal and the fans booed off the Red Devils at both half-time and full-time.

Our landlord believes Van Gaal’s time is up but he’s concerned as to who they would bring in to replace him, not convinced that Jose Mourinho is the right man to rejig an underperforming side.

United fans, should Van Gaal be axed or wait until the summer? Let us know in the comments below!
