Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain could get their hands on a bargain this summer, with a top-target available for a sensationally low price.
During a Q&A session with Sky Sports, Guillem Balague revealed he believes a price of just £48m would be enough to persuade Real Madrid to sell Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.
Real Madrid have vastly underperformed this season, looking set to finish third in La Liga, and wholesale changes are expected to be made by Zinedine Zidane in the close season- where Ronaldo and Los Blancos could end their association.
United have wanted Ronaldo to return to Old Trafford for a long time but PSG will rival their interest and can offer Champions League football. The good news, though, is that the three-time Ballon D’Or winner won’t cost as much as it was initially thought.
“I’ve been saying all season both Ronaldo and Real Madrid have been, in different ways, looking for a way out this summer.”
“The problem at the moment is no one seems able to pay all the money that Ronaldo incurs, meaning about £48m (€60m) that Madrid may want plus the wages, which will be £16m-£20m (€20-25m) net.”
Whilst United have the cash available to fund a deal, persuading Ronaldo to rejoin them without the offer of Champions League football may be difficult.
