Man United & Chelsea target set for massive pay rise

ronaldo.jpgBoth Manchester United and Chelsea fans here at the Football Transfer Tavern are looking up with interest at the latest claim from BBC Sport who report that Cristiano Ronaldo is set to be made the best paid player in the world by Real Madrid.

The Portuguese forward has two years left to run on his current deal and is stalling on signing an extension with the future manager of the club having a big part to play in the stay or go decision for Ronaldo.

Now it seems that not only are Manchester United considering getting their former number seven star back but Chelsea are casting their eyes on the Portuguese player who would of course be following national compatriot Jose Mourinho to the club.

Real Madrid and more specifically Florentino Perez are fully aware that they simply cannot afford to lose the player who at the start of the season claimed to be unhappy and will be heavily affected should both his closest friends at Real Madrid – Pepe and Fabio Coentrao leave this summer. Now Perez has claimed  to Spanish Radio station Cadena Ser: “We want to build the Madrid of the future around him.

“And I would like Cristiano to be the best-paid player in the world.”

Will Ronaldo commit his long-term future to Los Blancos? Let us know your thoughts below.
